FAQ

  • Are lessons and tests available again following the Covid-19 outbreak ?
  • Lessons resumed on 4 July with tests starting a couple of weeks later. There is a backlog of tests so there is a wait for these.
  • Which areas do you cover ?
  • Based in Lewes and Horsted Keynes we mainly cover the area between these, including Haywards Heath.
  • How about other villages outside the towns ?
  • No problem ! Successful learners have come from Rodmell, Kingston, Ringmer, Ardingly, Newick, Chailey, Lindfield, Ditchling......
  • How much do lessons cost ?
  • Weekdays are £28 per hour in our main area, with a block booking discount of 10 hours for £270. Weekend slots are £30 per hour. Outer areas may cost more to allow for additional transit time by the instructor.
  • Do you do 2 hour lessons ?
  • These are the most popular, although some prefer 90 minutes.
  • How many lessons will I need to get to test standard ?
  • The DVSA suggests a typical learner requires 40-50 hours of qualified tuition to reach test standard. Some clients can take a lot less than this, depending on aptitude and how much practice they get alongside formal lessons.
  • Do you do intensive courses ?
  • Yes, although it depends on how much the individual can take in one go !
  • What will the training car be ?
  • The award winning Ford Fiesta with manual gears.
  • What if I'm nervous ?
  • No problem ! We specialise in friendly patient tuition and aim to build the drivers confidence. Some clients prefer a little pressure but the course is tailored to suit the pupil.
  • Can you help with those needing retest / UK licence ?
  • Yes, for those needing to take another test, and for visitors to this country needing a UK licence.
  • How about refresher courses ?
  • This is a popular option for those who have passed their tests but feel they need help getting driving again after time away from the wheel. Other clients ask for help with particular road features and conditions.
  • Can I use my own car ?
  • Yes, so long as it is insured for lessons, and for test if that is required. For refresher courses clients often ask for help with their own cars, and in this case vehicles with either manual or automatic gears can be used.
